Vuleka’s Assisted Learning Centre was established in January 2002. Vuleka’s vision is to meet every pupil at their academic level and to make the best decision regarding that pupil’s future. Current educational programmes lay emphasis on practical literacy, numeracy and life skills. Swimming lessons, an art programme, computer skills/workshops, chess competitions, weekly cooking classes and sports are also offered.
In 2014 beading, knitting and sewing lessons are being taught to empower the pupils with entrepreneurial skills. Through the iSchool Africa programme the pupils also learn and demonstrate their learning with the iPad.
The Music programme includes gumboot dancing, marimbas and recorders. Pupils also have an opportunity to be involved in the school choir.
