It is a well known fact that the first 7 years of a child’s life is a significant period during which he/she develops approximately a third of his/her total adult intelligence as well as the basis of his/her personality and emotional/social disposition. Consequently the main aim of our highly qualified and experienced staff is to create a happy, stimulating, safe and caring environment in which your child as an individual and as a member of a group can reach his/her full potential.
BUILDING A SOLID FOUNDATION
It is a well known fact that the first 7 years of a child’s life is a significant period during which he/she develops approximately a third of his/her total adult intelligence as well as the basis of his/her personality and emotional/social disposition. Consequently the main aim of our highly qualified and experienced staff is to create a happy, stimulating, safe and caring environment in which your child as an individual and as a member of a group can reach his/her full potential.
Our programme is balanced so that there are activities catering for all aspects of a child’s development – physical, social, intellectual and emotional. Our day is an integrated day where the morning consists of teacher directed periods when the
children are with their own teacher and classmates and free choice periods, when the children integrate with children from other classes and come into contact with different teachers. Our school is specifically designed to meet the needs of the Pre-Primary child. Mutual respect is fostered and a child’s confidence and self-esteem are nurtured. We encourage children to think for themselves, question freely and believe in themselves.
At Crawford Pre-Primary we help the child to move
From dependence towards independence
From clumsy co-ordination to finer skills
From body talk to verbal communication
From a strong reliance on outer control to a developing inner control
From imagination towards reality
From exclusive personal awareness to growing social concern
From the here and now to wider intellectual awareness
From illiteracy to a deepening interest in symbols.’
We always remember that ‘Early Education must value highly each child’s happiness; it must never lose a deep concern for bringing joy to children’s days. But the educational challenge is to bring this joy through maximum learning’.
