Oak House Vocational Academy aims to facilitate a transition from adolescence to adults for learners with special educational needs. It is an environment where learners with special educational needs who have completed primary school are taken to the next appropriate stage of development and can begin a focused journey toward functional incorporation into society. The school caters for learners between the ages of 13 – 18 years. The low student-to-staff ration enables Oak House Vocational Academy to provide a high level of individual instruction and build on each learner’s unique strengths in areas such as Academic, Behavioural, Social, Communication and Adaptive Skills. The programme offers an especially strong focus on vocational skills and employment. All Oak House learners will participate in hands-on preparation in a variety of fields, enabling learners to discover, learn and work in their areas of interest. We also provide a wide range of support services based on the needs of each learner, including related therapies, technology, job coaching and monitoring to ensure that each learner succeeds.
